Fault Codes and Alarms to Sinamics S120

Fault Codes and Alarms to Sinamics S120

It is critical to grasp the distinction between failures and alerts on Siemens Sinamics S120 Drives. We've included a list of frequent defects and alarm codes for S120 drives, along with explanations of what they signify, possible causes, and how to resolve the issue or warning. Part II and Part III of the series, which will be posted shortly, will contain further Sinamics S120 errors and alarms.

How To Read Faults

What does a fault do?

  • The proper fault reaction is started.
  • 3 status signal is activated.
  • The fault is recorded in the fault buffer.

How do you get rid of faults?

  • Remove the original source of the fault.
  • Recognize the fault.

How To Read Alarms

What does an alarm do?

  • The status indicator ZSW1.7 is activated.
  • Alarms are "Self-Acknowledging," which means they are reset after the reason of the alarm has been identified.

F01000: Internal software error

Check: POWER ON

React: OFF2

Message Value: %1

Object Drive: All objects

Reason: During a Floating-Point data type operation, an exception occurred. The problem might be produced by the core system or an OA application (for example, FBLOCKS or DCC).

Solution:

  • Perform a POWER ON (on/off) for all components.
  • In FBLOCKS, check the configuration and signals of the blocks.
  • Examine the DCC charts' configuration and signals.
  • Update the firmware to the latest version.
  • Get ahold of the Service Hotline.

F01002: Internal software error

Check: IMMEDIATELY

React: OFF2

Message Value: %1

Object Drive: All Objects

Reason: There was an internal program fault.

Solution:

  • Perform a POWER ON (on/off) for all components.
  • Update the firmware to the latest version.
  • Get ahold of the Service Hotline.

F01003: Acknowledgement delay when accessing the memory

Check: IMMEDIATELY

React: OFF2

Message Value: %1

Object Drive: All Objects

Reason: A memory location that does not return a "READY" was accessed.

Solution:

  • Perform a POWER ON (on/off) for all components.
  • Get ahold of the Service Hotline.

N01004 (F, A): Internal software error

Check: NONE

React: OFF2

Message Value: %1

Object Drive: All Objects

Reason: An error to the internal software has occurred.

Solution: Take note of the diagnostics parameter (r9999).

React upon F: OFF2

Check upon F: POWER ON

React upon A: NONE

Check upon A: NONE

F01005: Firmware download for DRIVE-CLiQ component unsuccessful

Check: IMMEDIATELY

React: NONE

Message Value: Component number: %1, fault cause: %2

Object Drive: All Objects

Reason: The firmware could not be downloaded to a DRIVE-CLiQ component.

Solution:

  • Examine the specified component number.
  • Examine the DRIVE-CLiQ connection.
  • Save the appropriate firmware file for download in "/siemens/sinamics/code/sac/".
  • Use a component with the appropriate hardware version.
  • Download the firmware once again once the DRIVE-CLiQ component has been POWERED ON. The firmware will be downloaded automatically based on p7826.

A01006: Firmware update for DRIVE-CLiQ component required

Check: NONE

React: NONE

Message Value: Component number: %1

Object Drive: All Objects

Reason: Because there is no acceptable firmware or firmware version in the component for operation with the Control Unit, the firmware of a DRIVE-CLiQ component must be changed.

Alarm value (r2124, interpret decimal): The DRIVE-CLiQ component's component number.

Solution:

Using the commissioning software, update the firmware-

  • All the components on the "Version overview" page's firmware version may be read in the Project Navigator under "Configuration" of the related drive unit, and an appropriate firmware upgrade can be performed.

Firmware updates via parameters-

  • Enter the component number from the alarm value into p7828.
  • Begin the firmware download by entering p7829 = 1.

A01007: POWER ON for DRIVE-CLiQ component required

Check: NONE

React: NONE

Message Value: Component number: %1

Object Drive: All Objects

Reason: A DRIVE-CLiQ component must be switched on again (e.g., after a firmware upgrade).

Alarm value (r2124, interpret decimal): The DRIVE-CLiQ component number. If the component number is 1, the Control Unit must be turned on.

Solution:

  • Turn off and then on the power supply of the designated DRIVE-CLiQ component.
  • SINUMERIK does not support auto commissioning. In this situation, all components must be POWERED ON, and auto commissioning must be repeated.

A01009 (N): CU: Control module overtemperature

Check: NONE

React: NONE

Message Value: All Objects

Reason: The temperature of the control module (Control Unit) (r0037[0]) has surpassed the stated limit value.

Solution:

  • Examine the Control Unit's air intake.
  • Examine the Control Unit fan.
